From prices are per day, including VAT, and are based on hires of seven days or more. The minimum hire is one day; shorter hires are available and may have a different daily rate. Your price also varies with dates, collection location, availability and any extras you choose, and the confirmed total is shown before you complete your booking. About the Compact
The Compact is where most island trips sensibly start. Roads here are largely single-track with passing places, and the vehicle you can position accurately is worth more than the one with the bigger engine. Five seats and five doors mean four adults travel comfortably; the luggage allowance of one to two pieces is the honest limit, and it is what separates this group from the Intermediate above it. The gearbox is manual. Your booking is for the group rather than for a named car, and the model shown is an example of what that group contains.
Is this the right group for your trip?

- One or two people touring the islands who want the easiest vehicle to place on a single-track road. It is the group most people should look at first, and the one that makes narrow passing places a non-event rather than a negotiation.
- Luggage and load
- Enough for a couple of cases and everyday shopping. Treat it as a touring car rather than a luggage carrier.
- Probably not for
- A family with a full boot, or anyone carrying bikes, boards or walking kit for more than two.
