Where and how you collect

Inverness collections are either a pre-booked meet-and-greet or an unmanned handover at our Dalcross location, close to the airport. Which one applies depends on your booking, and your confirmation gives the exact access instructions before you travel. Please do not travel to Dalcross unless your confirmation tells you to.

The address above is our Dalcross base. It is not a public counter, and it is not where every Inverness collection happens. Your confirmation tells you whether to go there and gives the exact access instructions.

Be clear about this

This is not a desk in the airport terminal

There is no Car Hire Hebrides counter inside Inverness Airport. Our mainland base is at Dalcross Industrial Estate, close by, and some collections happen there.

Not all of them do, so please do not travel to Dalcross unless your confirmation tells you to. A pre-booked meet-and-greet may bring the vehicle to you instead. Your confirmation gives the arrangement and the exact access instructions.

Two ways it can work

Met in person, or collected unattended

Some Inverness collections are a pre-arranged meet-and-greet and some are an unmanned handover, where the vehicle and keys are ready for you without someone waiting.

Which one applies depends on the booking, and we confirm it with you before you collect rather than leaving you to find out on the day.

Mainland to island

The link between Inverness and the islands

Inverness is the mainland end of most island journeys. Collecting here and returning at one of our island locations (or the reverse) turns a return trip into a one-way route and removes the drive back for the vehicle.

One-way hire is subject to vehicle availability and pre-arrangement, and any applicable charge is confirmed before booking. Never leave a vehicle at an unagreed location.

Inverness journeys tend to cover longer, faster roads than the islands do, and often carry more. Automatics and estates suit the drive; the van groups are here for short-term business travel and equipment.

No. We operate from Unit 17A–B, Dalcross Industrial Estate, close to the airport. There is no Car Hire Hebrides counter in the terminal building.
